36” in diameter It is made of 20,000 crystals hand placed on wood panel to create a brilliant, galaxy like and breathtaking masterpiece. It is inspired by stars constellation that contain the heart nebula ❤️ and named after the Greek goddess vain queen Cassiopeia in Greek Mythology.
Ali Alassadi is a self-taught Iraqi American multidisciplinary artist based in Seattle, whose work seamlessly fuses traditional Arabic calligraphy with contemporary expression. Drawing inspiration from Middle Eastern miniature art, Ali's creations challenge conventional norms and celebrate cultural heritage in a fresh, innovative manner.
Ali employs a diverse array of mediums in his artwork, including handmade paper, gold leaf, acrylic/oil paint, ink, and even unconventional elements like insects. Notably, he takes a sustainable approach by crafting his own paper from recycled newsletters and cardboard, seamlessly incorporating these materials into his creations.
Ali draws much of his inspiration from nature, architecture, geometry, and his rich cultural heritage, which are evident themes in his artwork.
